Strengthening Youth Skills and Building Environmental Resilience
At Champions in Service (CIS), mentorship is at the heart of every program we offer. Every youth and adult enrolled in our services receives individualized, one-on-one mentorship designed to support their personal growth, life skills development, and long-term success.
Our mentorship program is flexible and tailored to meet the unique needs of each participant. We work closely with clients to ensure regular contact and meaningful guidance, fostering strong relationships built on trust, respect, and understanding.
Our mentors are not only skilled professionals but also include staff with lived experience, helping participants relate to and feel supported by someone who understands their journey.
What We Do
- Mentorship at CIS is personalized and holistic. Our mentors provide guidance in areas such as:
- Goal-setting: Developing personal, educational, and career goals
- Life skills: Building resilience, problem-solving, and self-confidence
- Violence intervention and prevention and reentry support: Navigating challenges safely and successfully
- Career support: Resume building, job readiness, and workplace guidance
- Resource connection: Linking clients to community resources and opportunities
- Emotional support and crisis guidance: Offering advice and accountability through difficult situations
By combining practical support with emotional guidance, mentors empower clients to make positive
choices, strengthen life skills, and overcome barriers to success.
